Scope: 200m Custom Balustrade
We recently had the opportunity to support Vaughan Civil on a local infrastructure upgrade in Ryde, supplying and installing 200 metres of custom balustrade along the newly constructed footpath on Hermitage Road’s western edge.
This stretch of balustrade isn’t just steel—it’s safety, accessibility, and part of a much broader vision for West Ryde.
The Bigger Picture: West Ryde Centre PAMP
This project was delivered under the City of Ryde Council’s West Ryde Centre Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP)—a strategic initiative aimed at improving walkability, safety, and connectivity across West Ryde. The plan prioritised removing missing pedestrian links, enhancing crossings, and delivering accessible footpaths throughout the area.
One of the key missing links identified in the PAMP was the absence of a footpath along the western side of Hermitage Road, between Rhodes Street and Victoria Road. This corridor connects residents to key services, transport links, and the broader West Ryde Town Centre.
Our scope: secure, continuous balustrading to accompany the new path along an elevated section of roadway, providing essential fall protection and improving pedestrian safety.
Our Role
- Working alongside Vaughan Civil, our team:
- Supplied and installed 200 metres of compliant pedestrian balustrade
- Delivered a finish and profile that complemented the surrounding urban environment
- Ensured full adherence to safety standards and durability requirements
- Coordinated seamlessly with footpath and roadworks to maintain program timelines
